16mm Production Grant

Those who knew Bill will remember that 16mm filmmaking was his passion.  He believed that it was necessary to preserve celluloid as an aesthetic choice for future filmmakers.  For this reason, the William F. DiPietra Foundation is pleased to award a 16mm Production Grant ($1000) to Ryan Sloan and Ariella Mastroianni, co-founders of Telstar Films.

Ryan and Ariella are a filmmaking and music duo based in New Jersey.  Ariella, from Ontario, Canada, studied journalism and film at Fordham University.  Ryan from Kearny, New Jersey, studied film and public relations at William Paterson University.  Their short film, A Message for James, shot in Ireland in 2016, spent the last few years on the international festival circuit.  Ryan and Ariella recently finished their first feature screenplay, Gazer, a mystery/thriller set in New Jersey, with production starting in April 2021.  Gazer will be shot in 16mm.
